Pointlight is excited to announce pre-production on our upcoming dystopian short film, HUMAN, written and directed by Timi Bickersteth. Set in a sterile world where natural birth has been replaced by centralized state regulation, the story follows high-ranking facility subjects navigate a tense, high-stakes investigation that threatens to shatter the delicate order they’ve known their entire lives. Blending psychological tension with a visually striking sci-fi atmosphere, HUMAN explores the lengths to which people will go to protect the last remaining fragments of their shared identity.
“A great story doesn’t just capture attention; it creates connection.”
As we prepare for principal photography in London and the surrounding areas, we are officially opening casting for both lead and supporting roles. We are seeking talented actors based in the UK who excel at delivering subtle, deeply nuanced performances in intense, high-stakes environments. Key roles available include Number 998 (Male, playing age 18–25), a disciplined and calculated high-achiever holding an internal secret; Number 143 (Female, playing age 18–25), a resilient, intuitive spirit driven by a fierce desire for freedom; and the Institute Head (Male, playing age 50–65), an authoritative, highly perceptive figure who oversees the facility's operations with clinical precision. Additional supporting roles are open for young adult performers playing age 18–25 (including Number 111, Number 502, and Number 705).

Production is scheduled to take place across London, with auditions currently being conducted via self-tape. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for in-person recalls. Interested actors, agents, and performers are invited to submit their headshot, CV, Spotlight link, and showreel directly to casting@pointlight.co.uk with the subject line Role Name – Your Name – Human Casting.
